Description For ML/Prompt Engineer (Contract)

Hona is seeking a creative and detail-oriented combined ML and Prompt Engineer to join our AI Development Team. As a ML Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing prompts for large language models (LLMs) to enhance our AI-powered products and services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of natural language processing, a keen eye for nuance in language, and the ability to craft precise and effective prompts for various use cases. In addition to writing prompts, you will also assist in setting up and maintaining the supporting infrastructure and data pipelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and refine prompts for large language models to achieve specific outcomes across various applications
  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers to understand project requirements and translate them into effective prompt strategies
  • Conduct extensive testing and analysis of prompt performance, including A/B testing, automated testing, and user feedback analysis
  • Evaluate prompts for different LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, PaLM) and measure their effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain a library of reusable prompt components and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in prompt engineering and LLM capabilities
  • Write scripts and data pipelines to validate and improve the quality of our models

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in natural language processing, computational linguistics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in prompt engineering for large language models
  • Strong understanding of LLM architectures, capabilities, and limitations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) is a plus
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus
  • Knowledge of ethical AI principles and best practices for responsible AI development
  • Familiarity with AWS is a plus
  • Work US Business Hours
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. (Technical English)
