Description For Embedded Systems Engineer - Inertial Sensors

HRL is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to join their innovative team working on cutting-edge MEMS IMU technology. The role focuses on developing navigation-grade precision systems that provide reliable guidance in GPS-degraded environments, serving automotive, aerospace, and other demanding applications.

The position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware and software, developing state-of-the-art subsystems for position, navigation, and timing applications. You'll be part of a dynamic team that designs, fabricates, integrates, and tests MEMS sensor components and subsystems, contributing to groundbreaking solutions in autonomous systems and precise navigation.

As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you'll leverage your expertise in Python, C/C++, and hardware interfaces to build custom drivers, implement control systems, and develop embedded solutions. The role requires a strong background in PCB design, FPGA programming, and experience with various microcontrollers and DSPs. Your work will directly impact the development of cost-effective, scalable solutions that are redefining navigation systems.

The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical expertise and collaborative skills, able to work both independently and as part of a team. You'll interact with program managers, co-workers, and customers, requiring excellent communication skills for preparing written and oral presentations. The position demands a deep understanding of MEMS technology, particularly accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and inertial measurement units.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to work on complex, meaningful projects in a fast-paced, vibrant, and interdisciplinary environment. The role offers competitive compensation and the chance to contribute to revolutionary navigation technology that's shaping the future of autonomous systems and precise navigation across multiple industries.
