Responsibilities For Quantum Optics Design Engineer

  • Perform cutting edge R&D for next generation quantum photonic/electronic devices
  • Design, model, setup, and test free-space and fiber optic experiments
  • Simulate and design free-space and waveguide optical components using Lumerical and Zemax
  • Perform measurements, collect and summarize data
  • Present and discuss data with other scientists
  • Work in a dynamic team environment

Requirements For Quantum Optics Design Engineer

Python
  • Masters or Ph.D preferred, will consider Bachelors with relevant experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience with optics simulation using Lumerical, Comsol, and Zemax
  • Experience with free-space/fiber optics, electronics, computer controlled experiments
  • Programming skills in Matlab or Python
  • Knowledge of free space optics, fiber optics, and rf-test equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers, engineering work stations, and complex electronic equipment
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
  • Ability to work safely in an optical testing laboratory with class IV lasers
