Design Engineer

Humanloop is seeking a Design Engineer to bridge the gap between engineering and design, focusing on building elegant, high-performance UI and design systems that scale. This role is perfect for someone who combines strong technical skills with design sensibility.

The position is based in San Francisco (with London as an alternative option) and offers a salary range of $120K - $190K plus equity (0.10% - 0.50%). As part of a small, smart team operating at the frontier of AI, you'll work with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend technologies to shape how AI teams build products.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience and be equally comfortable with both design and implementation. You'll be working with a modern tech stack including TypeScript, React, Next.js, TailwindCSS, and Radix UI on the frontend, with FastAPI (Python) and Postgres on the backend, all deployed on AWS.

The role involves creating intuitive interfaces for complex AI workflows, building scalable design systems, and working closely with product and backend engineers. You'll be responsible for crafting user experiences that make sophisticated AI functionality accessible to non-technical users while maintaining high standards for performance and accessibility.
