Senior Security Engineer

hyperexponential is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their engineering department, which is described as a melting pot of some of the brightest and kindest engineers in the industry. The role is based in London and is full-time within the Technology Engineering department.

The Security team's mission is to safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of customers' data and hx Renew's systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving and implementing DevSecOps processes, implementing security controls in multi-account environments, and providing expert guidance on complex cloud security challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing compliance, vulnerability, and threat detection/prevention policies across cloud environments
• Fine-tuning and automating threat policies for workload, container and cloud products
• Working with engineering teams to architect and implement secure-by-design solutions
• Applying cloud security best practices based on major frameworks like SOC2 and WA-Framework

The role involves conducting and reviewing internal automated security testing results, managing security aspects of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, responding to and mitigating security incidents, and developing organization-wide security policies.

Required experience and skills:

• At least 3+ years of IT security experience
• At least 2+ years of experience in AWS and building robust infrastructure
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills

Bonus points for experience with CI/CD pipelines and creating security processes within a scaling SaaS or Fintech company.
