Description For Lead Robotics Engineer

iKnowHow SA is a leading Software & Robotics Solutions company operating internationally. Within just a couple of years, our team grew up more than 80%, we moved into a new spacious and modern office, and we kicked off 2024 with several new and exciting projects in digital transformation, custom software, and robotics.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Robotics Engineer, who will support our engineering team throughout the development and prototyping of innovative automated robotic systems on behalf of our clients.

You will coordinate with our electrical systems and software teams to render the final system functional according to predefined specifications. You will also take part in the assembly, validation trials, debugging and system optimization. We are looking for candidates with prior experience in Gazebo and ROS, path planning simulation and implementation.

As a Lead Robotics Engineer you will:

  • Actively contribute to the concepts' evaluation and generation sessions
  • Contribute to the elaboration of control algorithms and processes for the optimal operation of system prototypes
  • Participate in the prototyping, debugging and post-testing systems' optimization
  • Contribute to the technical documentation of the project result.

Requirements:

  • Technical University degree in mechanical or electrical or mechatronics engineering
  • 5+ years of professional or research experience in the design and development of robotic systems
  • Excellent knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming
  • Experience with Gazebo, ROS
  • Motion planning and control for multi-dof robotic arms
  • Navigation and state estimation of autonomous ground vehicles
  • Strong analytical thinking and methodic approach of problems solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language
  • Ability to maintain a positive and productive attitude under pressure
  • Previous experience in managing teams would be considered an asset
