Technical Services Engineer

At impact.com, we are seeking a Technical Services Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. This role is crucial in delivering custom engineering and advanced technical support to our customers. As a Senior Technical Services Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving advanced technical troubleshooting issues, proposing technical solutions, and interfacing with clients on integration processes and technology best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming support requests and provide technical assistance both internally and externally
• Triage issues and escalate to various teams as needed
• Act as a technical resource for the on-boarding team
• Perform daily tasks to monitor tracking
• Acquire deep product knowledge of all Impact products and services
• Troubleshoot advanced tech services issues
• Manage, plan, design, and implement advanced technical integrations
• Oversee and mentor Technical Services team members
• Support Principal engineers with technology partnerships and POC integrations
• Manage internal projects related to training and support readiness for new feature releases
• Work on miscellaneous engineering projects as needed

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Maths, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in Integration Support, Sales Engineering, Software Development, or related field
• Experience with internet marketing or business development teams preferred
• Ability to perform log analysis, including writing SQL queries
• Experience in web application and tool development
• Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, PHP preferred)
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and learn new technologies quickly
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with clients and internal teams
