Description For Staff CAD Engineer

As a Staff CAD Engineer at Impinj, you'll be an integral part of the Silicon Engineering department, supporting analog and digital design flows and tools from project setup through tapeout. You'll develop PDK elements, setup and configure EDA tools, support circuit and layout designers, work with static timing and library characterization tools, and help debug and automate design tasks. You'll also be involved in specifying workstation and server systems, developing Linux OS installation and maintenance scripts, and supporting design team members on the Linux Operating System.

This role requires 5+ years of experience in design and/or design automation, with a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field. You should have experience with Physical Verification Tools, proficiency in programming and scripting languages, and experience working with CMOS silicon processes. Knowledge of various design tools and methodologies, including Cadence Analog tools, Synopsys Digital tools, and Electromigration analysis tools, is essential.

Impinj offers competitive compensation, including a base pay range of $129,000 - $200,000, depending on various factors. Responsibilities For Staff CAD Engineer

  • Support analog and digital design flows and tools from project setup through tapeout
  • Develop PDK elements, including DRC, LVS and Extraction rule decks, model files, custom parameterized cells, and timing files
  • Setup and configure EDA tools for design teams
  • Support circuit and layout designers using DRC, LVS and Extraction tools
  • Work with static timing tools and library characterization tools
  • Debug and sometimes automate design tasks, and be a liaison between designers and tool vendors
  • Specify workstation and server systems, develop Linux OS installation and maintenance scripts, administer and support user accounts
  • Support design team members on the Linux Operating System

Requirements For Staff CAD Engineer

Linux
  • 5+ years in a design and/or design automation field
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with Physical Verification Tools (DRC/LVS/Extraction tools)
  • Proficiency in one or more programming and Scripting Languages (Cadence Skill, Perl, Python, Unix shell, C, C++, Web development)
  • Experience working with CMOS silicon processes
  • User knowledge of the Linux Operating System
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and independently
