Backend Engineer II, Treat Team

Included Health is seeking a Backend Engineer II to join their Treat Engineering team. This role involves collaborating closely with Product Management and Design to scale and strengthen healthcare experiences for members and clinicians. The Treat organization's mission is to deliver healthy outcomes for members, focusing on engaging them with medical and behavioral health practices through Telemedicine and providing advocacy, advice, and information along their healthcare journey.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with product managers to lead technical planning of member experience improvements
• Contributing across the full stack of web technology (frontend, API, backend)
• Designing systems spanning multiple services for consistent, fast, clean data flow
• Owning development of Treat features around telemedicine, including virtual behavioral health and primary care experiences
• Addressing issues and improving product reliability
• Identifying areas of technical debt and influencing roadmap plans
• Participating in technical decisions of the wider Applications Engineering org
• Promoting software engineering best practices

The ideal candidate should have:

• 3+ years of professional experience in building and maintaining consumer-grade web applications
• Strong understanding of full-stack web development
• Solid programming skills and CS fundamentals
• Eagerness to learn and grow both technical and non-technical skills
• Ability to become a subject matter expert in any code they work with

Technologies used include Python, Golang, Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, NextJS, GraphQL, HL7, FHIR, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
