Description For Lighting Technical Director(Junior Level)

Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), founded by George Lucas in 1975, is seeking a Junior Lighting Technical Director for their Mumbai studio. This role combines creative and technical skills in visual effects for major motion pictures. The position involves designing and implementing lighting and shadows for assigned shots, ensuring continuity across sequences, and developing technical solutions that meet artistic direction. The Mumbai studio leverages 40+ years of ILM expertise while collaborating seamlessly with five other global studios. Responsibilities For Lighting Technical Director(Junior Level)

  • Design and create lighting and the look of computer generated objects and scenes
  • Create images, effects, and scripts for digitally composited sequences
  • Compile various elements of a shot and see it through to completion
  • Demonstrate good listening and communication skills
  • Demonstrate solid presentation/communication skills in dailies/shot review
  • Demonstrate solid problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Requirements For Lighting Technical Director(Junior Level)

Python
  • At least 2+ years relevant professional VFX experience and college level diploma in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography
  • Experience with either Katana, 3DS Max, Maya, Houdini or similar software
  • Linux and scripting ability
  • Renderman/Vray experience
  • Nuke experience
  • Experience in Python and/or Lua
