Responsibilities For Laser Engineer

  • Hands-on operations, maintenance, and optimization of high performing laser systems
  • Collaboration with physicists and engineers to support laser sub-systems development
  • Managing relationships with external laser vendors
  • Analyzing and validating laser system performance
  • Supporting proposal development for external and internal customers
  • Mentoring junior team members and implementing productivity-boosting processes

Requirements For Laser Engineer

Python
Rust
  • Master's degree in atomic physics, optical physics, or relevant engineering field with 5 years experience, or PhD
  • Experience with laser systems, diode lasers and optical cavities
  • Expertise in laser noise characterization and analysis
  • Knowledge of laser feedback control servo design
  • Experience with acousto- and electro-optical devices
  • Scientific programming skills (Python, Rust, C+)
  • Understanding of laser beams and optics design
  • Systems engineering skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in teams
