Infleqtion, a pioneering quantum technology company, is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer to join their innovative team in Boulder, Colorado. This role is crucial in developing quantum products, focusing on specialized processes including glass substrate processing, material bonding, and silicon wafer processing. The position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000-$115,000 and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of quantum technology and materials engineering, collaborating with a diverse team of physicists, engineers, and technicians. You'll be responsible for developing cutting-edge materials bonding techniques, conducting experimental validations, and producing technical documentation. The role requires expertise in various materials characterization techniques, vacuum processing, and physical vapor deposition technologies.

Responsibilities For Materials and Process Engineer

  • Develop materials bonding and fabrication techniques for quantum components
  • Collaborate with physicists and engineers to define mechanical system requirements
  • Produce engineering documentation and technical drawings
  • Support root cause analysis and failure mode investigations
  • Validate processes through design of experiments and statistical analysis

Requirements For Materials and Process Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science or materials engineering, engineering physics, or similar
  • At least 2 years of experience in materials processing, product design, development and testing
  • Experience with adhesive/epoxy selection and testing
  • Experience with microscale and/or nanoscale processing
  • Experience with materials characterization and elemental analysis techniques
  • Experience with laser systems and laser safety
  • Experience with vacuum processing and UHV systems
  • Proficient with physical vapor deposition technologies
  • Proficient with FEA and multi-physics modeling
  • Proficient with DOE/SPC/CIP techniques
  • Proficient with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software
  • Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good collaboration skills
