Infleqtion is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer specializing in Error Correction to join their team. This role focuses on advancing quantum computing through the design and optimization of error-correcting codes (QECs) for experimental quantum devices. The position requires a PhD holder with postdoctoral experience in quantum error correction, combining theoretical expertise with practical implementation. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of quantum computing, collaborating with experimental physicists and software engineers to bridge theory and practice. Responsibilities For Quantum Software Engineer - Error Correction
- Identify and pursue research that advances the understanding of QEC theory
- Develop and optimize QEC protocols for experimental gate-based quantum computing devices
- Use mathematical models and numerical simulations to analyze QEC protocols
- Develop and implement custom QEC decoders
- Contribute to noise processes identification and mitigation in quantum systems
- Collaborate with experimental physicists and software engineers
- Publish research findings and present at conferences
- Stay up to date with latest developments in QEC
- Provide guidance and support to team members
Requirements For Quantum Software Engineer - Error Correction
- PhD in theoretical physics, mathematics, computer science, or another field closely related to quantum information science
- 2+ years of postdoctoral experience (or industry equivalent) in QEC is highly preferred
- Experience in tailoring error-correcting codes for quantum computing devices
- Strong scientific publication record
- Proficient in scientific computing
- Professional-level communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
- Ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
