At Instructure, we're seeking passionate Software Engineer Interns to contribute to our educational technology products, including the Canvas Learning Management System. As an intern, you'll work on building new features for our existing products, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
We value innovation highly, offering quarterly Hackweeks for employees to work on pet projects and features. Many of our projects are open source, available on Github at www.github.com/instructure.
Our mobile development team focuses on native iOS development, maintaining three iOS apps with shared codebases, serving over 5 million monthly active users. We employ the latest technologies, supporting new iOS features promptly. Our tech stack includes Swift and SwiftUI for new development, with some UIKit, Bitrise for CI, Xcode for development, and GitHub for version control.
This internship requires an active student status at a Hungarian higher education institution for at least 12 months, with the ability to work an average of 20 hours per week. The position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer Intern (Mobile iOS)
- Develop new features for existing products, such as the Canvas Learning Management System
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams
- Work on native iOS development for multiple apps
- Participate in testing and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to open-source projects

Requirements For Software Engineer Intern (Mobile iOS)
- Active student status at a Hungarian University for at least 12 months (excluding correspondence or distance training)
- Availability to work at least an average of 20 hours a week
- Some experience in iOS development
- Ability to work in an inclusive and team-oriented environment
- Excitement about testing code and learning new testing methodologies
- Comfortable communicating over text and video conferences
- Willingness to learn new technologies and get involved in mobile development and testing
