Principal Engineer

Intercom, founded in 2011, is revolutionizing online customer service with its AI-first platform. As a Principal Engineer, you'll lead key strategic initiatives, working on both back-end and front-end systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor other engineers, and contribute to technical architecture as the company scales.

Your responsibilities include:

• Driving strategic projects with domain expertise
• Assessing project progress and risks
• Contributing to technical architecture for scalability
• Balancing agility with scalability and availability
• Participating in all phases of software development
• Mentoring and developing other engineers
• Raising the bar for technical standards and operational excellence

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience building exciting SaaS products
• Significant impact on products and teams
• Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language
• Experience with distributed systems
• 2+ years as a primary technical leader
• Strong collaboration skills and product strategy sense
