Description For Distinguished Software Engineer

Intuit, a leading global financial technology platform, is seeking a Distinguished Software Engineer to join their Finance, Legal and Privacy Tech (FLP) team. This senior role reports directly to the VP of Finance and Compliance Tech and is crucial in driving technical strategy for enterprise capabilities. The position offers an opportunity to work with industry-leading products like TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, serving a global customer base of approximately 100 million users.

The role involves leading technical architecture for major cross-Intuit initiatives, focusing on enterprise finance and legal technologies. You'll be responsible for evaluating technology partners, governing technology standards, and ensuring consistent application across the organization. The position requires deep expertise in modern technology stacks, API strategies, microservices, and public cloud infrastructure.

As a Distinguished Software Engineer, you'll collaborate with various stakeholders, including FLP Product Management, Engineering teams, Segment Business Units, and accelerating functions. You'll play a key role in Intuit's platform journey, helping consolidate and standardize backend processes onto common capabilities.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture. You'll need excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence across all organizational levels.   • Evaluate technology partners for enterprise finance, legal and privacy systems
  • Govern enterprise finance, legal and privacy systems technology standards
  • Lead technical solution architecture for cross-Intuit initiatives
  • Partner with architects community to drive architectural imperatives
  • Collaborate with engineering and product management leaders
  • Build the Intuit technology brand and represent at external events
  • Develop and inspire senior technologists across Intuit
  • Build prototypes to rapidly iterate on optimal customer experience
  • Participate in cross-company technology initiatives

Requirements For Distinguished Software Engineer

  • BS degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 15+ years of software product development experience with 5+ working as an enterprise or solutions architect
  • Deep understanding of business processes and technology landscape in Enterprise finance and privacy space
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present to all levels of leadership
  • Expertise with modern technology stacks, API strategies, microservices, public cloud
  • Strong business acumen to bridge technical and business priorities
  • Experience with systems engineering and high-availability design
  • Understanding of asynchronous and synchronous processing
  • Experience with iterative software development (SCRUM, Agile)
  • Track record of collaboration and influence
