Description For Manager 2, Software Engineering

Join Intuit's Identity Platform Team as a Software Engineering Manager 2, where you'll lead the development of critical authentication services used by millions of customers across TurboTax Online, QuickBooks Online, and Credit Karma. This role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing a team of approximately 10 engineers focused on building highly available, scalable, and secure authentication services.

The position requires a strong technical background in enterprise software, particularly in backend services engineering. You'll be responsible for driving technical excellence while growing and mentoring your team. Responsibilities For Manager 2, Software Engineering

  • Grow a high performing organization of engineers by hiring and developing engineering talent for a medium-sized team
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams including product management, QA/QE, product lines, and business units
  • Promote builder culture and the use of AI to solve unique problems and improve developer velocity
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of incidents in both PROD and pre-PROD
  • Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
  • Acting as a technical subject matter expert: mentoring engineers and leading team solving challenging programming and design problems

Requirements For Manager 2, Software Engineering

Java
  • 10+ years of experience working with world class, consumer-facing web services and web applications
  • 5+ years of experience with REST or GraphQL and expertise with Spring or related frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience with running enterprise scaled services on distributed cloud computing environments
  • Expertise with Java/J2EE or related programming language
  • Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Expertise in Software design/architecture process
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
