The Futures team is dedicated to incubating emerging technologies, user experiences, capabilities, and products that hold the potential to transform the lives of Intuit's small businesses and customers.

We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer to join our dynamic, intra-preneurial team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and launching the next generation of customer experiences for Intuit's flagship products and technology platform. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, data scientists, researchers, and analysts, all working together to create game-changing experiences for Intuit.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive significant technology initiatives end-to-end, including horizontal layers of the architecture
  • Understand customer behaviors and partner with cross-functional partners to influence and drive end-to-end solutions for customer problems
  • Drive design and implementation of durable software solutions that will solve critical customer problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Execute with a boundaryless mindset and contribute to solutions outside of their primary area of ownership
  • Be passionate for continuous learning, experimenting, and applying cutting-edge technology and software paradigms to solve customer problems

Knowledge of building AI-native applications:

  • Guide the applicability of AI to customer problems through a deep understanding of the value and limitations of AI technologies
  • Understand evaluation tools to validate and measure the accuracy of solutions
  • Have a high-level understanding of how AI models work, the different types of AI models that exist, and their pros and cons
  • Understand the latest tools and technologies that apply AI to real-world applications

Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with other groups both inside and outside of Intuit for cross-functional design, development, and integration
  • Work with cross-functional team members from Architecture, Product Management, and Operations to design, develop, test, and release features

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments, as well as startups
  • 5+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems, management products, or business applications
  • 3+ years of experience in rapid prototyping and fast turnover of projects
  • Full-stack development experience with AI technologies and tools; applying it to user experiences or back-end solutions
  • Experience with AI technologies like SageMaker, Vertex, LangChain, Large Language Models, Prompt Engineering, DialogFlow, Python
  • Experience with front-end technologies like React, Angular, SwiftUI (iOS), Kotlin (Android) or back-end technologies like Java, Typescript, Spring, Express (NodeJS)
  • Prior working experience in a cloud computing environment like AWS or GCP
  • Background in Fintech or Security domains
  • Strong mentoring skills and ability to influence and communicate effectively
  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related area, or equivalent experience
