Intuit, a leading global financial technology platform, is seeking a Software Engineer 2 for their Big Data team. This role is part of the UIP Platform team, which provides various Data ingestion solutions across the enterprise. The platform handles data from different sources with varying volume and velocity, supporting critical use cases such as reporting and executive dashboards.

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in both frontend (React) and backend (Java/J2EE) development, with specific expertise in microservices and container technologies. You'll be working with modern technologies including Kubernetes, Kafka, and PostgreSQL, while contributing to the development of robust and scalable web services.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer 2 - Big Data

  • Deliver high quality web or mobile software with 80-95% hands-on coding
  • Contribute to early quality activities, including peer reviews of estimates, designs and code
  • Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
  • Partner with team members to deliver against commitments
  • Work cross-functionally with product management, QA/QE, product lines, and business units
  • Maintain positive team dynamics and commitment to team success

Requirements For Software Engineer 2 - Big Data

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years of overall experience in systems/software development
  • 1+ years experience with microservices and container technologies like Kubernetes
  • 1+ years experience with CSS frameworks and JavaScript MVC toolkit
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing scalable web services
  • Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience with Cloud platforms development (AWS/Kubernetes/Container)
  • Knowledge of API development standards (REST/GraphQL)
  • Experience with Postgres, Data Lake, Kafka & schema modeling
  • Strong end to end testing mindset
  • Good understanding of Software Design, Architecture and large scale systems
