As a Staff Data Scientist, you'll tackle complex challenges using advanced analytics, machine learning, and NLP to improve relevance and personalization algorithms. Your responsibilities will range from hands-on data analysis and modeling to mentoring other data scientists. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, including LLMs, and have the opportunity to impact products used by millions globally.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of experience (or 4+ with a PhD), strong technical skills in Python/R, SQL, and machine learning, and excellent communication abilities. Responsibilities For Staff Data Scientist
- Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with huge data sets
- Apply data mining, NLP, and machine learning to improve relevance and personalization algorithms
- Work with product managers, software engineers, and designers in designing experiments and MVPs
- Discover, access, import, clean and prepare data sources for modeling
- Create and refine features from underlying data
- Run A/B tests, perform statistical analysis, and communicate results
- Explore new design and technology shifts
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for products
- Mentor other data scientists in the team
Requirements For Staff Data Scientist
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, or related field
- 8+ years of experience with data science for MS or 4+ for PhD
- Experience with R or Python with scikit-learn
- Proficiency in SQL, Hive, or SparkSQL
- Application building using LLMs
- Linux environment experience
- Experience in data mining algorithms and statistical modeling techniques
- Strong communication skills
- Preferred: Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystem, Java, HP Vertica, TensorFlow, reinforcement learning
- Preferred: Ensemble Methods, Deep Learning knowledge
