IONATE, a pioneering deep technology start-up, is revolutionizing power systems for the energy transition through their innovative Hybrid Intelligent Transformer (HIT) technology. As Principal Systems Engineer, you'll lead all systems-related activities, from requirements management to product delivery, working with cutting-edge smart grid technology.

The role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of green energy transition, working with an international multi-disciplinary team. You'll be responsible for technical leadership, systems integration, and product enhancement, ensuring the successful delivery of IONATE's HIT technology. The position requires expertise in power electronics, electrical engineering, and systems design, with a focus on grid-connected inverters.

Key responsibilities include leading systems engineering activities, managing technical investigations, system integration, and implementing technical roadmaps. You'll work closely with transformer, power electronics, electrical, embedded, control, and software engineers to deliver a cohesive, integrated product. The role involves hands-on technical leadership and the opportunity to build and lead a future team of systems engineers as the business grows.

Responsibilities For Principal Systems Engineer

  • Plan and lead systems engineering activities
  • Act as a key technical leader and build future team of systems engineers
  • Lead technical discussions and collaborate with various engineering teams
  • Design and integrate new functionalities into existing systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Plan, design, and conduct testing and trials

Requirements For Principal Systems Engineer

  • Master's Degree in engineering (Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls or related)
  • Extensive experience in grid-connected inverters
  • Full product lifecycle experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle
  • Experience with EMI/EMC design
  • Proficiency in developing capabilities within hardware and software constraints
  • Experience in planning and conducting factory and site acceptance tests
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
