Description For High Power Microwave Engineer / Radio Frequency Engineer

IronMountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a High Power Microwave (HPM) / Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to serve the U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) Indirect Fire Protection Capability – High Power Microwave (IFPC-HPM) in Huntsville, AL. As the sole HPM subject matter expert on site, you will analyze technical data, provide insights into HPM effects on equipment, and make recommendations to the Government.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing technical data packages for SRR/SFR/PDR/CDR presentations, HPM acceptance testing, lethality analysis, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Recommending optimal HPM system placement for maximum lethality while minimizing equipment impact
  • Collaborating with Naval Surface Warfare Division-Dahlgren HPM experts
  • Securing approvals for HPM system operation in CONUS and OCONUS
  • Conducting all-source analysis for technical specifications
  • Providing professional engineering advice throughout research, development, and deployment stages
  • Formulating technical parameters when not available from all-source analysis
  • Supporting risk assessment reports, safety assessments, and technical documentation

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with HPM/RF systems evaluation and risk mitigation
  • Familiarity with the Directed Energy Weapon Initial Operational Employment Review and Approval Process (DEWRAP)
  • Knowledge of various sensors (EO/IR, Radar) and non-kinetic effectors (Lasers, EW)
  • Strong system engineering process understanding
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
