Description For GNC Engineer - Launch Vehicle Autopilot

Isar Aerospace, a pioneering New Space company, is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to lead the technical development of their launch vehicle autopilot. As part of the Guidance, Navigation, & Control team, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge space technology, working on trajectory optimization, closed-loop guidance schemes, and complex physical modeling.

The role combines aerospace engineering expertise with software development, requiring proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and Python. You'll be responsible for critical aspects of mission analysis, including Monte Carlo simulations and flight licensing procedures. The position demands a strong background in mathematical modeling and at least 3 years of experience in GNC systems.

Responsibilities For GNC Engineer - Launch Vehicle Autopilot

  • Lead technical development of launch vehicle autopilot
  • Perform trajectory iterations for mission analysis
  • Support development of closed loop guidance schemes
  • Perform, setup and analyze Monte Carlo simulations
  • Support mission analysis and flight licensing documentation
  • Write and evaluate interdisciplinary GNC requirements
  • Develop and verify physical models for controller design

Requirements For GNC Engineer - Launch Vehicle Autopilot

Python
  • Master's degree or PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics or similar
  • At least 3 years of experience in mathematical modelling and GNC
  • Strong background in MATLAB and related tools
  • Proficient in trajectory optimization using ASTOS
  • Proficient in data analysis with Python
  • Knowledge in rigid body and Orbit mechanics
  • Experience with large software projects in GIT
  • Ability to maintain technical documentation
  • Proficient in nonlinear system modelling
