Description For Engineering Manager

Jellyfish, founded in 2017, is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their maturing Engineering team after a year of record growth. This role is perfect for someone passionate about making an impact and helping scale the organization. As an Engineering Manager at Jellyfish, you'll be a servant leader supporting engineers across delivery teams and embedding with a single delivery team to help them achieve their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include mentoring engineers, managing the hiring process, working on team strategy and roadmap, improving team performance, and maintaining high standards for technical excellence. You'll also play a crucial role in aligning your team's efforts with overall company strategy and supporting production operations.

The ideal candidate should have experience or strong interest in building and leading teams developing SaaS platforms. You should excel at asking questions, building consensus, and executing plans. As a committed servant leader, you'll focus on enabling and empowering teams to achieve big results. Experience in matrix-style organizations, a love for learning and teaching, and excitement about data-driven engineering management are all important qualities.

Responsibilities For Engineering Manager

  • Work with engineers on career development and mentor them through challenges
  • Manage the hiring process for one or more pipelines and identify great talent
  • Work as part of a product, engineering and design trio on team strategy and roadmap
  • Be accountable for your team's say/do performance
  • Work with your team to continuously improve ways of working
  • Understand all aspects of your team's product area
  • Maintain a high bar for technical excellence and quality
  • Work with engineering leaders on alignment of team efforts to company strategy
  • Stay connected to the implementation of key features through code review and design review
  • Provide support for production operations of the Jellyfish product
  • Actively promote a culture supportive of growth and inclusion
