Description For Lead BBU/RAN QA Engineer (LBR1)

JMA Wireless is at the forefront of U.S. leadership in wireless technology, specifically in the transition to 5G. Based in Syracuse, NY, JMA operates the only U.S.-owned 5G factory in the country, developing and manufacturing advanced software-based 5G platforms.

As a Lead BBU/RAN QA Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of our baseband unit (BBU) software and hardware components. This position combines technical expertise in telecommunications with quality assurance leadership, requiring both hands-on testing capabilities and strategic thinking.

The role involves developing and executing comprehensive test plans, integrating BBU components into larger telecommunication systems, and providing technical support across the organization. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including 5G, LTE, and CBRS, while utilizing tools such as QXDM, Kubernetes, and various network testing platforms.

Responsibilities For Lead BBU/RAN QA Engineer (LBR1)

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for BBU software and hardware components
  • Integrate BBU components into larger telecommunication systems or networks
  • Provide technical support to customers, field engineers and internal teams
  • Analyze and optimize the performance of BBU and related systems
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to QA processes
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams

Requirements For Lead BBU/RAN QA Engineer (LBR1)

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 2 years of experience in software testing role in telecommunications sector
  • Experience with QUALCOMM eXtensible Diagnostic Monitor (QXDM) and QCAT
  • Knowledge of LTE, VOLTE, carrier aggregation, VONR, 5G NSA FR1, FR2, 5G SA, CBRS
  • Experience with Kubernetes administration
  • Experience with Viavi TM-500 Network Tester, Keysight RU/UE Simulator, and Amarisoft UE Simulator
  • 10% domestic travel required
