The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities in industrial automation. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and robot programs, while leading a multi-disciplinary team in commissioning and supporting manufacturing equipment. This position requires both technical depth in control systems and the ability to manage complex projects.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 10+ years with an Associate degree) in electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering. Your expertise in industrial automation, particularly with systems like Logix5000, FactoryTalk, and FANUC robots, will be essential. Strong project management and leadership skills are crucial, as you'll be delegating tasks and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Senior Controls Engineer

  • Develop, implement, and maintain PLC programming (Logix5000 & Logix500)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HMI interfaces (FactoryTalk & Ignition)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Robot programs (FANUC, UR)
  • Develop and maintain electrical drawings (SolidWorks Electrical)
  • Lead technicians during electrical/mechanical build of equipment
  • Work with design team for development of new equipment
  • Delegate and review project tasks to engineers and vendors
  • Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment installation and repairs
  • Provide expert level support in troubleshooting situations

Requirements For Senior Controls Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience
  • OR Associate degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Strong technical writing skills and process understanding
  • Project management capability
  • Industrial automation background preferred
  • FANUC Robot experience is a plus
  • Ignition development experience is a plus
  • Python programming experience is a plus
