Staff Software Engineer, AI Receptionist

Jobber is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their AI Receptionist team. This role involves leading and mentoring teams of engineers while collaborating with Product and Design partners to tackle complex technical challenges. The AI Receptionist is a new product that uses AI to handle customer calls, respond automatically, and schedule appointments via phone and text message.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-impact features
• Partnering with Product and Design teams on strategic roadmaps
• Leading large-scale initiatives across multiple teams
• Participating in code reviews and testing processes
• Championing consistent engineering practices
• Researching and implementing industry best practices
• Communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Mentoring team members at all levels

The ideal candidate should have:

• Expertise in developing scalable software solutions
• Proven leadership experience in guiding teams through complex projects
• Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills

Experience with React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, and Ruby on Rails on AWS is a plus. The role offers flexibility to work remotely across Canada or in a hybrid setting from offices in Edmonton or Toronto.
