Joint Academy is revolutionizing healthcare through digital treatment for chronic joint pain. As a Data Engineer, you'll join our mission to improve lives through data-driven healthcare solutions. You'll be part of our growing Data Team, working at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

The role involves building and maintaining critical data infrastructure that powers analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning solutions. You'll work with a diverse tech stack, transitioning from a Rails monolith to Go-based microservices and implementing modern ELT approaches using dbt and columnar databases.

The company operates across three markets and two continents, connecting patients with licensed physical therapists through clinically validated programs. Our digital treatment combines individualized exercises, interactive education, and tracking tools to reduce pain and improve quality of life.

You'll collaborate with world-leading researchers, clinicians, and innovators, working on everything from medical insights and business intelligence to UX support and AI development. The role requires strong technical skills in Python, databases, and cloud infrastructure, combined with excellent communication abilities to work effectively across teams.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer

  • Build and maintain data platform, supporting both legacy ETL workflows and ELT pipelines
  • Design scalable solutions for integrating new data sources and types
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver insightful answers to data-related questions
  • Integrate with third-party APIs and systems to import/export data
  • Support mission-critical analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning solutions

Requirements For Data Engineer

  • Proficiency in Python and its data science libraries
  • Comfort with multiple programming languages
  • Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and writing advanced SQL queries
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Strong grasp of Unix systems and modern cloud-based infrastructure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline
  • A permanent Swedish work permit
