The Machine Learning Center of Excellence (MLCOE) at JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Principal NLP/LLM Scientist to join their team. As a Lead AI/ML Scientist, you will be working in a highly collaborative environment with business, technology, and control partners to deploy cutting-edge solutions into production. The role requires expertise in Deep Learning with hands-on implementation experience and a strong passion for machine learning innovation.
The MLCOE team partners across the firm to create and share Machine Learning Solutions for our most challenging business problems. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary community of experts focused exclusively on Machine Learning, working with cutting-edge techniques in disciplines such as Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning.
The position sits within the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), which is responsible for accelerating the firm's data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring data quality, integrity, and security, while leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making through AI and machine learning technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a quantitative field or equivalent experience, strong background in NLP/ML, and proven ability to develop and deploy large-scale ML solutions. You'll be expected to contribute to research, collaborate across teams, and drive firm-wide initiatives while maintaining strong communication with both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements For NLP / LLM Scientist - Applied AI ML Lead - Machine Learning Centre of Excellence
- PhD in a quantitative discipline or MS with significant industry experience
- Solid background in NLP or speech recognition and analytics
- Extensive experience with machine learning and deep learning toolkits
- Experience with big data and scalable model training
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Scientific thinking with ability to work independently and in teams
