Sr. Machine Learning Scientist – Data Technology

The Applied Innovation of AI (AI2) team is an elite machine learning group strategically located within the Chief Technology Office of JP Morgan Chase. As a Sr. Machine Learning Scientist-Data Technology, you will be part of a team that tackles business-critical priorities using innovative machine learning techniques and technologies. The role focuses on machine learning for Data, Software, and Technology Infrastructure.

You will apply sophisticated machine learning methods to complex tasks including data mining, exploratory data analysis, text understanding, anomaly detection, large language models (LLMs), and generative AI for technology use-cases. The position offers a unique opportunity to explore novel challenges that could transform how the bank operates.

The ideal candidate must excel in a highly collaborative environment, working with business, technology, and control partners to deploy solutions into production. You should have a passion for machine learning with a commitment to continuous learning and experimentation. Strong expertise in Deep Learning with hands-on implementation experience is essential, along with solid analytical thinking and high motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and explore new machine learning methods through independent study and experimentation
• Develop state-of-the-art machine learning models for real-world problems

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in quantitative discipline with 2 years experience or Masters with 5 years of industry experience
• Extensive experience with machine learning toolkits and LLMs
• Strong background in big data and scalable model training
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in teams
