Description For Electrical Engineer

Juul Labs is seeking an ambitious Electrical Engineer to join their Hardware Engineering team. This role involves supporting high-volume shipping products and bringing new products and major improvements to market. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of electrical engineering, product development, and high-volume manufacturing processes and tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building custom test systems for hardware, firmware, and system-level verification
  • Designing, building, and verifying PCBAs
  • Overseeing embedded or PC-level software to control PCB test fixtures
  • Supporting Sustaining Engineering
  • Creating and executing verification and validation protocols
  • Troubleshooting product failures on PCBs and electromechanical assemblies
  • Overseeing schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts for new and existing products
  • Developing best practices for creating, executing, and managing tests on Juul products
  • Creating and monitoring bugs using the issue tracking system
  • Following Juul Labs' design control and documentation procedures

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Strong EE fundamentals
  • Experience with Python and version control systems like Git
  • Scripting knowledge to control benchtop test equipment
  • Experience with microcontrollers, mixed signal design, and embedded HW
  • Understanding of serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
  • Experience with sensors or other ICs communicating over SPI and/or I2C
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout expertise, preferably with Altium Designer
  • Excellent understanding of continuous integration practices and principles
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical problem solving, and communication skills

Education requirement:

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
