Description For Staff Mechanical Engineer

This is a hands-on role for a Staff Mechanical Engineer at Juul Labs, responsible for designing innovative, cost-efficient, and reliable new products. The role involves driving concept validation through analysis, prototyping, and testing, while working with cross-functional teams to manage product requirements. Key responsibilities include leading engineering activities from concept to mass production, taking ownership of high-level work, and designing complex system DoEs across multiple engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience, expertise in 3D MCAD (preferably Solidworks), and a strong background in prototyping. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a high-paced global environment, and a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Responsibilities For Staff Mechanical Engineer

  • Design new products that are innovative, cost efficient, reliable, and ship on schedule
  • Drive validation of concepts via early analysis, prototyping and testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are managed
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to technically define designs
  • Create optimal solutions for product-related topics such as mechanical design, thermal, and data analytics
  • Lead a cross-functional engineering team from concept to mass production ramp
  • Prioritize, scope and delegate tasks to a cross-functional engineering working group
  • Design, implement, and drive to completion complex system DoEs spanning several engineering disciplines
  • Conduct rapid feasibility studies for mechanical, fluidic, and thermal robustness
  • Oversee internal and external prototyping
  • Facilitate design reviews
  • Collaborate with local and overseas engineering and manufacturing teams

Requirements For Staff Mechanical Engineer

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Prototyping background with a maker mentality
  • Self-motivated team player with a strong desire to learn new skills and grow
  • Ability to communicate well with cross-functional team members
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and CM partners
  • Expertise in 3D MCAD, Solidworks preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
