Description For Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

K2 Space is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join their spacecraft manufacturing team. This role combines electrical and mechanical engineering expertise to develop and implement manufacturing processes for satellite systems. You'll work closely with design engineers from early stages, ensuring manufacturability of spacecraft components and developing innovative solutions for large satellite structures, harnessing, mechanisms, and integrated electronics systems. Responsibilities For Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure design for manufacturability for initial design, flight hardware, and tooling
  • Develop innovative manufacturing systems for large spacecraft assemblies
  • Create custom tools and processes including Manufacturing Execution System software
  • Demonstrate advanced manufacturing techniques on prototypes
  • Develop subassembly build flow and create efficient production flow for satellites
  • Partner with advanced manufacturing engineers for R&D of novel manufacturing technologies

Requirements For Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in high volume, rapid production environment
  • Demonstrated results with product development and/or process improvements
  • Experience setting up manufacturing/production floor for first article builds
  • Experience designing and implementing technologies for avionics subassembly manufacturing
