K2 Space is seeking a Loads and Dynamics Engineer to join their growing analysis team. This role focuses on developing and analyzing satellite systems during various phases including ground transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation. The position combines engineering expertise with software development, requiring skills in both physical modeling and programming.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for building software tools and establishing simulation workflows for frequency and time domain analyses. They will work on correlating physics models with measured data through development testing and own the qualification and acceptance testing of satellite hardware at both component and vehicle levels.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics who wants to contribute to the development of innovative spacecraft technology. The role offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 plus equity, along with comprehensive benefits including unlimited PTO and full healthcare coverage.
The position requires strong analytical skills, programming capabilities (particularly in Python), and experience with finite element analysis software. The successful candidate must be able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
As this role involves access to ITAR-controlled information, candidates must qualify as "U.S. persons." K2 Space values diversity and maintains an inclusive work environment, encouraging applications from candidates with non-traditional career paths who meet the core requirements.
