K2 Space is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Avionics to join their innovative spacecraft development team. Within your first six months, you'll be deeply involved in defining mechanical requirements, creating concepts, performing analysis, and producing development hardware. Responsibilities For Senior Mechanical Engineer (Avionics)

  • Take hardware and mechanisms from conceptual design through qualification to on-orbit operations
  • Lead design reviews from kickoff through qualification and beyond
  • Drive hardware development, including hands-on development testing
  • Perform hardware trades that steer both sub-system and top-level product direction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to establish product requirements
  • Own and refine system deliverables and associated schedules

Requirements For Senior Mechanical Engineer (Avionics)

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical and/or electromechanical design and analysis
  • Experience with CAD or FEA software packages
  • Experience with the practical application of GD&T
  • Proficiency in principles of mechanical design, materials, thermodynamics, and fluids
  • Ability to design, build, and test hardware from blank canvas
  • Experience designing Electro-Mechanical assemblies
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations
