Kairos Power, an innovative nuclear energy technology company, is seeking a Licensing Engineer to support their mission of enabling clean energy transition. This role focuses on developing the Hermes test reactor facility Operating License Application, requiring expertise in civil or structural engineering with emphasis on seismic, hydrological, and geotechnical aspects. Responsibilities For Licensing Engineer

  • Develops licensing document content and programs for reactor facility construction
  • Supports planning, development, and defense of license applications
  • Supports pre-application meeting interactions with the USNRC
  • Prepares licensing strategies supporting license application development
  • Leads resolution of key strategic licensing issues
  • Coordinates with safety analysis documentation
  • Supports NRC construction inspection program
  • Supports Project Management and Engineering teams
  • Identification of regulatory requirements into design requirements

Requirements For Licensing Engineer

  • BS or MS degree in Nuclear, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in facility engineering design and construction
  • Strong knowledge of civil/structural and seismic system design
  • Experience in system design and implementation of new technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with highly collaborative team
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently
  • Willingness to travel 25-35% of the time
