Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer - Remote Handling

  • Own pieces of innovative mechanical handling solutions for reactor system shielding cells
  • Work with commercial and custom end effectors, vision systems, tool changers
  • Deliver test-proven hardware through SolidWorks CAD design
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams to organize development
  • Align to high level schedules tracking Hermes test reactor start up
  • Publish engineering reports documenting design details and test results
  • Integrate design to cost and manufacturing efforts
  • Participate in inspections, quality checks, and testing
  • Keep pace with maturing reactor system design evolutions

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer - Remote Handling

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with machine design and systems design
  • Experience fielding hardware
  • Proficiency in computer methods for data acquisition, control, and analysis
  • Experience with weldments
  • Experience with low voltage electrical systems and computer control
  • Expertise with material selection and compatibility
  • Familiarity with pressure systems and fluid conveyance systems
  • Experience with power electronics
  • Ability to work with highly collaborative team
