Responsibilities For Principal Engineer - Power Generation Systems

  • Design and develop the Power Generation System (PGS), focusing on steam cycle and related systems
  • Lead design trades, performance analyses and optimization of the steam cycle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for plant design integration
  • Manage external partners, suppliers, regulators and vendors
  • Oversee technical specifications and design documents preparation
  • Perform feasibility studies and risk assessments
  • Mentor and guide engineering team
  • Present findings to senior management
  • Support commissioning and testing of PGS
  • Stay current with industry advancements

Requirements For Principal Engineer - Power Generation Systems

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in power conversion systems design
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
  • Experience in managing complex engineering projects
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for nuclear power systems
  • Proficiency in engineering simulation software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in highly collaborative team
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
