Responsibilities For Principal Engineer, Structural Integrity of Metallic Systems, Structures & Components

  • Lead extension and application of structural integrity assessment methods for commercial FHR units
  • Conduct and review defect tolerance and fitness-for-service assessments
  • Perform and review Finite Element Analysis of metallic SSCs
  • Lead development of deformation and damage models
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on uncertainty quantification and software Quality Assurance
  • Support licensing milestones and deliverables

Requirements For Principal Engineer, Structural Integrity of Metallic Systems, Structures & Components

Python
Linux
  • MS or PhD in Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience with FEA
  • Knowledge of inelastic deformation and failure mechanisms
  • Knowledge of Fracture Mechanics
  • Experience with scientific programming languages (C++, Fortran, Python, Matlab)
  • Experience with model calibration and optimization techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with minimal direction
