Responsibilities For Process Design Engineer

  • Develop and maintain process design documentation including PFDs, heat and mass balances, P&IDs
  • Support development of plant operational states and modes, and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses
  • Conduct sizing and rating analysis for plant structures, systems and components
  • Support design reviews and design verification of heat transfer systems
  • Provide field support through fabrication, erection, commissioning, and operations
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers
  • Provide technical support for thermal design and heat transfer equipment
  • Interface with vendors and customers as needed

Requirements For Process Design Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience in chemical, oil & gas, power generation process design engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or smart P&ID software
  • Experience with process simulation and hydraulic simulation software
  • Experience with process design of equipment and instrumentation
  • Familiar with process safety reviews
  • Experience in supporting new product development cycle
  • Experience with designing systems for hazardous chemicals and molten salts
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
