Responsibilities For Senior Engineer - KP-SAM Code Development
- Lead KP-SAM IET validation efforts with junior code developers
- Lead thermal hydraulics or source term development projects
- Provide support for Safety Analysis team and Licensing Team
- Develop new source term models into KP-SAM
- Perform sensitivity and uncertainty analysis
- Write documentation and propose validation test ideas
- Collaborate with risk analysis, salt chemistry, tritium, and engineering design teams
- Interface with testing teams for source term validation
- Assist in software maintenance and updates
- Publish internal engineering reports and external papers
Requirements For Senior Engineer - KP-SAM Code Development
- Ph.D. or M.S in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related field
- 10+ years of work/academic experience developing nuclear reactor systems code
- Deep knowledge of nuclear thermal hydraulics and reactor systems
- Experience with systems analysis codes like SAM or RELAP
- Experience with DOE MOOSE framework preferred
- Strong verification and validation experience
- Knowledge of numerical methods
- Proficiency in C++ and Python programming
- Familiar with Git, Github, latex, Linux/Mac OS environment
