Description For Fraud Engineer

Kalshi is building a next-generation financial ecosystem for trading event contracts, the fastest-growing asset class today. As a Fraud Engineer at Kalshi, you'll work on various platforms including core exchange, clearinghouse, API infrastructure, and connectivity to brokers and market makers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and building systems for financial fraud detection and remediation
  • Balancing fraud loss, cost of implementation, and customer experience
  • Working closely with finance, security, product, compliance, and operations teams
  • Staying abreast of the latest techniques and tools to combat fraudulent actors
  • Shipping fast and with high quality

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience in backend and data systems
  • At least 2 years experience in payment fraud, abuse analysis, and investigations
  • Ability to dive into the codebase and suggest improvements
  • Strong desire to learn and share knowledge
  • Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions

Bonus points for experience with financial systems, large-scale systems, machine learning, and customer interaction.
