Founding Engineer - Kato

Kato is revolutionizing the $58BN loan servicing industry with an AI-powered platform that automates manual, repetitive work across all communication channels. As a Founding Engineer, you'll be the first engineering hire working directly with the CTO to shape the technical foundation of the company.

The role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, combining real-time voice processing, LLM integration, and scalable distributed systems. You'll be responsible for critical projects including voice agent quality enhancement, latency optimization, and building customer-facing dashboards.

The founding team brings strong expertise, with the CEO's background in investment banking and operations at Brex, and the CTO's experience at Google and Brex. The company is backed by Pear VC and angel investors from top tech companies including Brex, Bridge, and Square.

This position requires 2-5 years of production software engineering experience, with a strong background in API design and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with Golang, TypeScript, or React, and knowledge of real-time audio processing or WebRTC would be advantageous.

Working 4+ days per week in San Francisco, you'll have the opportunity to shape product direction, establish engineering best practices, and grow your career rapidly. The compensation package includes significant equity ownership, reflecting the founding nature of the role.
