Description For Continuous Improvement Engineer

Kepak Group, a global food company specializing in meat processing and convenience foods, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for their Merthyr Tydfil facility. This role combines engineering expertise with continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment. The position offers a unique 4 on/4 off shift pattern, working both days and nights.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes, maintaining equipment reliability, and driving efficiency improvements. You'll be responsible for implementing continuous improvement projects, managing preventative maintenance schedules, and providing technical training to CPM shift engineers.

Key responsibilities include supervising contractor safety, developing maintenance schedules, managing the engineering training budget, and leading root cause analyses. The role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and process optimization while maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality assurance.

Responsibilities For Continuous Improvement Engineer

  • Supervise and maintain safe operating procedures for visiting contractors
  • Ensure all PPM schedules are fulfilled and developed using predictive maintenance techniques
  • Initiate and implement improvement plans
  • Manage engineering training budget and oversee CPM training
  • Drive Continuous Improvement projects
  • Compile weekly project progress reports
  • Collaborate with Operations and CPM Shift Engineering team
  • Lead engineering and operational engagement in root cause analyses
  • Assist in emergency breakdown repairs
  • Provide technical guidance and behavioral coaching

Requirements For Continuous Improvement Engineer

  • Adhere to Health & Safety rules and regulations
  • Experience with preventative maintenance schedules
  • Strong project management skills
  • Technical expertise in manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to work 4 on/4 off days and nights (7am/7pm to 7pm/7am)
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies
