The Engineer role at Kepak involves providing effective maintenance support to the Production team, maintaining and repairing equipment, machinery, and tools used in the factory. Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking electrical and mechanical routine checks of equipment
- Troubleshooting using PLC Logic
- Performing electro-mechanical repairs on high-speed, PLC-controlled plant and equipment
- Providing technical support for plant facilities and services
- Carrying out Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Routines
- Supporting the Production Team in achieving targets
- Monitoring line and machine performance
- Analyzing efficiency and suggesting improvements
- Working with equipment suppliers on new installations and modifications
- Maintaining cleanliness in work areas
- Updating the maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Participating in safety procedures and training
The role requires working on a 4 on 4 off basis, with 12-hour shifts from 05:00 - 17:00, averaging 42 hours per week. The annual salary is £41,296.00.
Key requirements include:
- NVQ Level 3 Mechanical and/or Electrical Qualification
- BS7671 18th Edition certification (17th acceptable with commitment to 18th)
- Experience in meat/food production environment (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and root cause analysis skills
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Fluent English communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work under own initiative
