Kiddom is revolutionizing education through their innovative platform that combines high-quality instructional materials with digital learning capabilities. As a Staff Systems Engineer, you'll be joining a company that's dedicated to promoting student equity and enhancing educational outcomes through technology.

The role sits within the Systems Engineering team, where you'll be instrumental in supporting tools and core services that enhance both product experience for end-users and developer experience for engineering teams. This position combines technical leadership with strategic impact, requiring expertise in multiple programming languages including Go, TypeScript, Python, and various technologies from web APIs to graph databases and LLMs.

Your responsibilities will span across the entire technical infrastructure, working with various teams to drive technical change and improvement. You'll be expected to debug complex issues, lead cross-functional projects, and help shape Kiddom's systems to scale with each school year. The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of software development experience at scale and 3+ years of leading cross-functional projects. You should be fluent in at least one of the core languages (Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python) and have substantial experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.

Kiddom offers a competitive compensation package starting from $160,000 to $200,000, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, meaningful equity, and generous paid time off policies. The role is hybrid, requiring minimum once-weekly office presence in either San Francisco Bay Area or New York City, emphasizing the company's commitment to building a collaborative and strong culture.
