Description For Staff Technical Support Engineer

Kong is seeking a Staff Technical Support Engineer to join their dynamic team in a remote capacity. As part of the Technical Support Engineering (TSE) team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting Kong's cloud native API platform, which boasts over 300 million downloads worldwide. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced startup environment, where you'll assist customers in resolving complex technical issues in both production and pre-production environments.

The role combines technical expertise with customer service, requiring you to work with leading-edge technologies while being the bridge between customers and Kong's product teams. You'll be responsible for implementing Kong's API Gateway and ServiceMesh solutions, investigating technical challenges, and creating valuable knowledge resources for customers.

As the ideal candidate, you'll bring at least 5 years of customer-facing technical experience, strong knowledge of REST APIs, container technologies, and web architectures. You'll work with a global team of top developers, helping to shape the future of API technologies while supporting Fortune 500 enterprises and startups alike.

Requirements For Staff Technical Support Engineer

Kubernetes
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer facing technical role
  • Knowledge of REST and RESTful APIs
  • Coding skills - ability to read and troubleshoot code
  • Experience with containers, cluster deployment and management tools (Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of web architectures including HTTP
  • Strong problem-solving and learning capabilities
