Description For Full Stack Engineer

At Kpler, we are dedicated to helping our clients navigate complex markets with ease. By simplifying global trade information and providing valuable insights, we empower organisations to make informed decisions in commodities, energy, and maritime sectors.

Since our founding in 2014, we have focused on delivering top-tier intelligence through user-friendly platforms. Our team of over 500 experts from 35+ countries works tirelessly to transform intricate data into actionable strategies, ensuring our clients stay ahead in a dynamic market landscape.

The Supply and Demand (S&D) team is building a data product that provides a comprehensive picture of the commodities supply value chain. The product is a cornerstone of Kpler portfolio as it provides a deep understanding of market dynamics at a country level. The team is operating a complex data pipeline that pulls data from external sources, normalizes, transforms and finally publishes to various channels (from web UI, mobile to various APIs).

As a Full Stack Engineer, your mission will include:

  • Contributing to the roadmap in collaboration with Product Owners and peer engineers
  • Designing and implementing APIs, user interfaces, and other publication channels
  • Designing and implementing data pipelines
  • Contributing to documentation and ensuring it's relevant and up-to-date
  • Sharing expertise with team members, providing help and guidance when needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 4 years of experience as a full stack developer, including hands-on experience with Python, Postgres, NextJS, and VueJS
  • Understanding and commitment to software craftsmanship principles
  • Ability to design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Skills in designing and implementing relevant and responsive user interfaces

Additional valuable experience includes:

  • Designing data pipelines, especially using Python and Airflow
  • Cloud engineering and IaS tools (Terraform, Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to messaging middleware

Kpler is committed to providing a fair, inclusive, and diverse work environment. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives.
