Description For [PUBG STUDIOS] Sr. Engine Engineer

KRAFTON, through its PUBG Studios division, is seeking a Senior Engine Engineer to join their team in Seoul, South Korea. This role is part of the Engine Tech Team, which is responsible for improving and optimizing the game engines used across PUBG Studio's projects, including the blockbuster battle royale PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) and an unannounced online shooter project.

The position requires deep expertise in game engine development, particularly with Unreal Engine 4/5. The successful candidate will work on critical low-level systems including core functionality, memory allocation, and file systems. They will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing engine performance metrics such as loading times, memory usage, and execution speed across both PC and console platforms.

The role combines structured project work (60%) with self-directed problem-solving (40%), requiring both technical expertise and initiative. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in engine development or commercial engine usage, strong C++ programming skills, and a comprehensive understanding of computer hardware and operating systems.

  • Improve the Low-Level systems in Unreal Engine 4/5 (Core, Memory Allocator, and File System)
  • Analyze and optimize the load time, memory use, and performance of the engine or build
  • Resolve complex issues that arise on PC and Console
  • Establish and improve pipelines to enhance development and live service
  • Carry out assigned tasks (60%) and initiatively define and solve problems (40%)
  • Research and apply new technologies

Requirements For [PUBG STUDIOS] Sr. Engine Engineer

  • 5+ years of experience in engine development (or using other commercial engines)
  • Skillful in C++ programming language
  • Deep understanding of computer H/W and OS
  • Computer Science major (minor)
  • Verbal and written communication skills to work with various international teams of different disciplines
