Description For Fullstack Software Engineer

At Kueski, we're dedicated to improving the financial lives of people in Mexico. Since 2012, we've been the leading buy now, pay later (BNPL) and online consumer credit platform in Latin America, known for our innovative financial services. Our flagship product, Kueski Pay, provides seamless payment solutions for both online and in-store transactions, establishing itself as the preferred option for a quarter of Mexico's top e-commerce merchants. Notably, we were the first to introduce BNPL on Amazon Mexico.

We're seeking a versatile Fullstack Engineer with strong frontend and backend skills to develop and support features that enhance the scalability, functionality, and user experience of our products. The ideal candidate will design, build, and maintain high-quality software components across the stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services. They will diagnose underlying issues, design scalable solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide mentorship to other engineers.

Responsibilities For Fullstack Software Engineer

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality software components across the stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services
  • Diagnose underlying issues and design scalable, efficient solutions that address technical challenges
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Provide guidance to other software engineers
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure product quality, performance, and reliability
  • Ensure the delivery of clear, maintainable documentation, and perform code reviews to support team knowledge and code quality
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a timely manner, and proactively monitor the systems to prevent incidents
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, propose improvements to practices and processes, and contribute to a culture of learning and growth
  • Engage in early project discussions, contribute ideas for technical architecture, and help the team break down complex projects into manageable tasks

Requirements For Fullstack Software Engineer

  • Strong programming background and understanding of clean code principles
  • Experience integrating and building RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Ability to navigate and optimize the SDLC with an emphasis on non-functional requirements
  • Excellent collaboration skills within interdisciplinary teams
  • Eagerness to mentor, share knowledge, and support best practices within the team
  • Proficient in React, JavaScript (JS), and Next.js for building interactive user interfaces and responsive web applications
  • Strong experience with Ruby on Rails, with an understanding of designing and implementing APIs
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure or similar), and knowledge of microservices-based infrastructure
  • Familiarity with data streaming platforms like Kafka
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the importance of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
